Miss Sandy Dawn Gillette

Here is Sandy Dawn Gillette she joined us on April 29, 2013 at 8:55 a.m. She weighed in at 7 pounds and 4 ounces and was 20 inches long. A full head of long and dark brown hair, big blue eyes lined with long eye lashes and ten perfect fingers and toes. Everything went really well with the labor and delivery. We went in Sunday night and they told me I was ready to have a baby. I wasn't even feeling all of the contractions. By 1:30 though they were getting more painful so I got the epidural! What a wonderful thing that was!!! My doctor came around 3 a.m. and broke my water. It was a bit of a long night and I didn't sleep much but the couch was good for Damon and he slept pretty good. Around 7 they came and checked me again and said they were going to let me rest and descend and then I would push. At 8:20 they came and said that the baby was really close and it was time. After 35 minutes Sandy was here!!
She has been a pretty calm baby from the beginning. This picture is right after they brought her back from bathing her. It was weird when they took her since I had been with her for the last 8 and a half months!
This is us passing time in the recovery room.
 She was just wide awake.
 She was so tiny!!
She is about a week old in these next pictures. I just love watching her facial expressions and listening to those cute little sounds she makes. And she really likes having her hands around or on her face and sometimes she just looks so dramatic when she gets those hands going.
I love her beautiful smiles even though they aren't actually on purpose yet. I caught the end of a big smile in this one.
This is a five generation picture. With my first baby, my moms first granddaughter, my grandma's first great-granddaughter, and my great-grandma's great-great-granddaughter. On the Lindsay side she is the 53rd great-grandchild. On the Gillette side she is the 13th grandchild. We are so blessed with so many wonderful family members.
She likes tummy time for about five minutes and then she gets a bit frustrated.
More hands up next to her face again. Sleeping peaceful.
Here she is hanging out with her daddy. When she is upset, and her dad picks her up or plays with her she calms down.
This picture was taken earlier today. She lost her umbilical cord this morning and then a little while later I was holding her and she peed and it leaked out of her diaper and all over the both of us. So I decided it was time to use the baby bath. She didn't know what to think about it she kept trying to lift her bum out of the water. But she didn't cry at all so that was good. But the bath must have wore her out because shortly after she fell asleep!
After her bath her hair really fluffed out. She is a very healthy baby, in the first week she gained a pound and grew 2 inches and at her 2 week weight check on Monday she weighed 8 pounds and 13 ounces. Also so everyone knows we will be blessing her the first Sunday in June which is the 2nd. And for anyone that might be interested in coming our Sacrament meeting starts at 10:45. Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Our new house

Damon here.  Just wanted to update the blog and show a few pictures of our house for those of you that haven't been able to see it yet.  Pictures aren't in a very good order but I can't figure out how to rearrange them.  No picture of the other two bedrooms or the bathroom because they are a mess and pretty boring anyways.  It's a 3 bedroom 1 and 1/2 bath about 1360 square feet.  We really like the house a lot.  If we were to ever build a house we might like to base it off of this one and just add a few rooms and change a few things.

Here is one of the spare bedrooms which is just across from our bedroom.  Has the built-in changing table which should be nice.  As you can see we already have a bunch of baby stuff but feel free to send us more!

We really like the kitchen lots of space and a good layout.  Only thing missing is a dishwasher which we will probably install eventually.  We got a sweet deal on the table and the previous owners left us with a nice fridge that happens to be exactly the same as our fridge in Rexburg.  They kept everything pretty nice overall.  There is nice paint and nice newer carpets.

There is a little half bathroom and a mudroom/laundry room next to the garage which is quite nice.

Big backyard and a nice little shed.  We will be taking out a lot of the grass, one of the bushes, and probably a couple trees this spring to have a place for a garden.  The church is in the direction of the shed in this picture.
Concrete slab in the back might be nice for bbq.  There is a lot of new or newer concrete (driveway and front sidewalks).  My only problem with the backyard is you have to go through the garage or around the house to get there and there isn't much privacy.  There is a nice white birch and another really cool tree that looks like a red birch.
We already have a few ducks.  When it warms up we'll be putting in a little pond for them in the back yard.
The garage is plenty big and has a good workbench and really good lighting.
When we first moved in there was a water leak in the front yard.  Luckily it was an easy fix.  Most of the concrete looks like it is new.  We really like the front flower garden area and the sidewalks are all new and really well done.  We just wish the driveway was a bit wider so that we didn't have to park behind each other or on the street when we have two vehicles.
I must say it is one of the nicest looking houses on our street and is just behind (north) and to the east of the stake center (you can see the parking lot from our back window).  I don't think we could find a house in Paul where we would rather live.  Our neighbors are pretty nice.  We live next door to Garth Baker and just a few houses down from Megan's grandparents Randy and Sandy Jones.
We really like the front room nice and open with a sweet rug and even has a good place to hang my buck.  We really like the front window too.  All of the windows in the house are new which is really nice.
Here is a picture of Megan so you can see she is actually pregnant. 31 weeks. And she hasn't thrown up in months!!
